Jazz Scrapbook - the only doco to record the early years of Australian jazz.

Australia's first authentic jazzman was Benny Featherstone (1911-1977) who improvised on several instruments and lived life with the brakes off.

When Louis took his band to London in 1933, Featherstone met his idol. This was jungle music, the authentic hot music from New Orleans. Benny brought the Armstrong style to Melbourne.

Benny Featherstone played eight instruments but had a special affinity with drums.

A 15 minute record of this popular local jazz festival is now available.

Gerry Humphrys - The Loved One, a biopic on a boy of 16 who brought his talents and his charisma to Australia in the late 50's, played in jazz bands, later formed the unforgettable LOVED ONES.
